Centurion Medical Products’ Sustainability Programs

Trent Galen Sisco, a medical sales professional with Centurion Medical Products in Williamston, Michigan, merchandises the company’s full line of offerings. In addition to introducing hospital administrators to the benefits of using SorbaView® Dressing products and the SorbaView® Shield, Trent Sisco helps to carry out Centurion’s recycling programs, which dispose of medical waste in an environmentally friendly manner.

The only medical-product recycling initiative of its kind, Centurion’s Instrument Recycling & Rebate Program reclaims and reprocesses single-use patient instruments and plastic bags. The initiative significantly cuts down on landfill waste, and hospitals benefit in a number of ways beyond environmental stewardship. I addition to offering cash rebates to hospitals that collect and return the instruments for reprocessing, Centurion picks up medical instruments free of charge, reducing the institutions’ disposal costs.

Centurion also designed a unique recycling program to handle soiled linens and liners. Thanks to the Original Soiled Linen Collection System, hospitals have been able to divert more than 50 million pounds of plastic linen bags from landfills.
